Job Summary
Experienced Service Desk Technician (Tier 2) based in Norfolk, VA supporting NMCI NNPI/SIPR environments. Responsibilities include analyzing routine situations via automated systems, triaging and prioritizing requests, independent and collaborative problem resolution, escalating to Tier II as needed, providing user training and information access, instructing users on PCs/networks, and maintaining clear documentation of issues and resolutions. Requires 1-3 years general IT experience, high school education or equivalent, and US Citizenship. Certifications: 8570 CompTIA Security+CE (or ability to attain Tier 1.5 within 30 days). Strong PowerShell, networking, and communication skills with ability to work in a high-pressure, multitasking environment. Office-based role in Norfolk with potential shift work including overnights and weekends; no remote work indicated. Preferred candidates hold a Bachelor's degree in IT/CS/Engineering or related experience, and demonstrate proactive learning and growth mindset. Required Qualifications
- High school education or equivalent
- 1-3 years general experience or equivalent
- Minimum 6 months tenure with NMCI Service Desk
- Three months+ experience supporting NNPI and/or SIPR in a Tier 1 role
- 8570 certification - CompTIA Security+CE
- Ability to attain Flank Speed Tier 1.5 qualification within 30 days
- Superior written and verbal communication
- Proficiency with Microsoft PowerShell
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Advanced knowledge of computer and networking technology
- Ability to document issues, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions
- US Citizenship required
- Willingness to work assigned shifts including overnights and weekends
