Job Summary
Greet guests warmly upon arrival, manage reservations and waitlists, and escort guests to tables while presenting menus and daily specials. Operate the point-of-sale system to process payments accurately, balance cash drawers, and complete end-of-shift reconciliation. Coordinate with servers and bartenders to ensure smooth guest flow, answer phone inquiries, and maintain a clean host stand and lobby areas. Monitor dining room capacity, support opening and closing procedures, and escalate guest concerns to management as needed. Maintain a professional demeanor while following all health and safety standards and company policies.
Required Qualifications
- Food Handler Card required or ability to obtain prior to employment, as required by local regulations
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds
- Availability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience as a host/hostess, cashier, or in a customer service or hospitality role preferred
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with a friendly, professional demeanor
- Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with guests and team members
- Experience operating a point-of-sale (POS) system and handling cash, credit card, and other payment transactions accurately
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to manage reservations, waitlists, and guest flow in a fast-paced environment
- Basic math skills and attention to detail for accurate cash handling and transaction processing
- Ability to remain calm, courteous, and solution-oriented during busy service periods
- Professional appearance and commitment to maintaining luxury hospitality standards
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff members and management
