Job Summary
Lead SME Systems Engineer responsible for MBSE-based enterprise system designs, requirements analysis, test planning, cloud and data-center management, release/deployment processes, cybersecurity compliance, incident and patch management, asset tracking, and guiding 8-15 engineers; collaborates with DoD partners and cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, production-ready enterprise data and analytics capabilities and to enable mission-critical decisions. The role emphasizes translating operational and strategic requirements into scalable solutions, ensuring stability, performance, and alignment with mission priorities across DoD programs, and applying advanced systems engineering practices in enterprise environments with DoD/ federal context.
Required Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI clearance with CI Poly
- Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related technical discipline and 12 years of relevant experience OR Master’s degree in a related field and 10 years of relevant experience
- At least one of the following foundational qualification pathways consistent with DoD 8140 requirements: Current DoD 8570/8140 baseline certification appropriate for Advanced System Administrator roles (e.g., CASP+, CCNP Security, GCED, or equivalent) or Offerings listed in the DoD 8140 Training Repository or Demonstrated equivalent training and experience qualifying under DoD 8140 foundational qualification alternatives
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in systems engineering or related field
- Experience leading systems engineering activities in DoD or Federal enterprise environments
- Experience developing and managing system requirements, interface control documents, and architecture artifacts
- Experience integrating cloud infrastructure, DevSecOps pipelines, cybersecurity controls, and enterprise data services
- Experience operating within SAFe or large-scale Agile frameworks supporting enterprise systems
- Demonstrated experience leading and mentoring technical teams
- Proven experience in managing engineering processes and technical teams
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices
- Experience with cloud service management and system administration
- SAFe Agilist (preferred)
- MBSE experience (preferred)
- Experience with NIPRNet/SIPRNet/JWICS (preferred)
- Zero Trust architecture patterns (preferred)
- Experience supporting enterprise data, AI/ML, or DevSecOps modernization (preferred)
- INCOSE CSEP or equivalent (preferred)
- AWS familiarity (preferred)
