Job Summary
SME Engineer/Power & Energy role focused on development, testing, and oversight of munitions power sources for DEVCOM-AC. Responsibilities include technical support and oversight of munitions power projects, SME development to serve as a technical resource, leading and supporting laboratory activities (material handling, processing, prototype fabrication), environmental and dynamic testing in high-G and extreme temperatures, R&D design and failure analysis of power components, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to present technical findings. Ideal candidate has hands-on laboratory experience, familiarity with materials characterization, electrochemical testing, electronic systems, and strong data analysis and communication skills; degree requirements include a Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Materials Science, Engineering, Chemistry, or related physical sciences, with US Citizenship and ability to obtain an active Secret clearance.
Required Qualifications
- US Citizenship
- Ability to obtain Secret Clearance (Active Secret preferred but not required)
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Materials Science, Engineering (Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical), Chemistry, or related physical sciences
- R&D laboratory experience or hands-on laboratory environment
- Experience with materials characterization, electrochemical testing, and/or electronic systems is highly desirable
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and detail-oriented approaches
- Proficiency with data analysis software and willingness to learn new software/processes
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- On-site work at Picatinny Arsenal, Dover, NJ (US)
- Relocation limited to local candidates
