Job Summary
Conduct regular site visits to observe teacher-student interactions and classroom instruction, providing specific feedback and instructional recommendations. Guide teachers in implementing evidence-based practices for addressing unique learning needs, including challenging behavior, while modeling high standards of alignment to state and county standards. Assist teachers in aligning teaching practices with appropriate standards, curriculum, and assessments such as CLASS, Creative Curriculum, and Teaching Strategies GOLD. Provide onsite embedded professional development through side-by-side coaching techniques, including observations, modeling lessons, and videotaping. Review and analyze data from CLASS assessments and fidelity tools to ensure consistent implementation of high-quality services. Coordinate with partner agencies to provide technical assistance and collaborate with the support team to arrange professional development opportunities. Establish cooperative relationships with families, school personnel, and community partners while documenting monthly reports of coaching activities through an online tracking system.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of BA/BS degree in early childhood education or related field
- A North Carolina Birth-Kindergarten (BK) or Pre-K Add-on Professional Teaching License (SP II / Continuing License)
- Five years as a successful lead teacher in a Pre-K age classroom using the Creative Curriculum, Teaching Strategies Gold (TSG)
- Three to five years of increasingly responsible and progressive leadership experience in early education programs, including direct experience with young children combined with training, mentoring or providing TA to teachers
