Job Summary
This is a 75-day contract position for entry-level and experienced Smart Meter Field Technicians responsible for meter upgrades and installations in the Chicago metro area. Candidates must possess 1 year of field-based work experience and have a High School diploma or above.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a minimum of 1 year of field-based work experience
- Clear driving record + valid driver's license
- Must maintain a consistent average of 52 sites/day
- Analytical problem-solving skills
- Work independently and multi-task with minimum supervision
- High School Diploma or above
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
- Able to travel locally within the customer region as much as 90% of the time
- Possibility to travel out of state to other customer locations as much as 25% of the time
Desired Qualifications
- Preferred: 2 years of work experience in endpoint/meter installation
- Preferred: experience and knowledge of gas, water and electric utility meters and related technologies
- Experience with GIS mapping software such as Google Earth
- Experience with GPS and coordinate data
- Strong verbal, written, and organizational skills
- Strong PC skills with software such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
