Job Summary
Smart Home Consultant delivering in-home consultations and installations of security hardware, cameras, IoT devices, and smart home products while providing consultative sales and customer education. Responsibilities include in-home assessments, recommending solutions based on customer goals, installing/activating hardware, integrating new products with existing setups, troubleshooting technical questions, onboarding customers, and identifying upsell opportunities to strengthen home protection. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver’s license, strong communication, and technical aptitude with smart device ecosystems; ability to work indoors/outdoors and lift 10+ pounds. Compensation includes hourly pay with uncapped commissions and an average annual earnings potential aspect, plus benefits and a flexible schedule.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required; additional licensing may be needed based on location
- Strong customer-focused communication skills
- Technical aptitude with smart device ecosystems and connected technologies
- Ability to understand how multiple products interact within a home network
- Advise customers on the best system design and setup to support their safety goals
- Continuous learner who adapts to new tools and technologies
- Ability to climb, lift 10 or more pounds, and work indoors/outdoors in varied conditions
