Job Summary
Lead architectural design of integrated smart city solutions spanning mobility, energy, environment, governance, and digital services. Translate business requirements and urban challenges into scalable, secure, and interoperable technical solutions by collaborating with strategy consultants, city authorities, and solution providers. Design high-level and detailed architectures for applications, data, integration, and infrastructure components while developing blueprints aligned with ISO 37106 and ITU-T standards. Evaluate technologies, support procurement and RFP responses, and ensure alignment with cybersecurity, data privacy, and sustainability best practices throughout the project lifecycle. Provide technical leadership from concept to deployment. Bilingual Arabic and English; TOGAF or cloud architecture certification preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, ICT, or related field
- 8+ years in ICT architecture or smart solutions design
- at least 3 years focused on smart city programs
- Proven ability to design complex, multi-domain smart city systems and digital platforms
- Experience working with cloud-native, edge, IoT, and data integration technologies
- Proficiency in developing solution architecture, reference models, and architectural governance documents
- Familiarity with EA frameworks (e.g., TOGAF) and technology stacks relevant to smart cities
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Ability to lead architectural discussions with both business and technical stakeholders
- Certification in TOGAF, AWS/GCP/Azure Architecture, or Smart Cities-related programs
- Experience in urban innovation projects, digital twin platforms, or open urban data standards
- Knowledge of service-oriented architecture, microservices, and interoperability protocols (e.g., FIWARE, NGSI-LD, OASC)
