Job Summary
Fire Safe Services is hiring a Fire Alarm Small Works Engineer to lead installation, modification, and upgrades of fire alarm systems and emergency lighting across diverse sites. You will deliver small works projects on time and on budget, coordinate engineers and subcontractors, act as a client-facing technical lead on site, and complete project documentation (electronic job sheets, commissioning records, client sign-offs, quotations, procurement, labour allocation, and risk assessments) while supporting junior engineers. The role requires strong knowledge of fire alarm and emergency lighting systems, industry regulations, health and safety standards, and relevant fire safety legislation, plus a Full UK driving licence with ability to travel across the Midlands. ACS/CSCS, IPAF, PASMA, or SSSTS qualifications are advantageous. Benefits include a company van, tools, laptop, phone, 25 days plus holidays, birthday off, pension, and ongoing training.
Required Qualifications
- Experience delivering fire alarm and emergency lighting installations, modifications, and upgrades across a range of systems and environments
- Strong understanding of fire alarm systems, emergency lighting systems, industry regulations, health & safety standards, and relevant fire safety legislation
- Experience coordinating small works projects, engineers, or subcontractors while maintaining strong client communication and high standards of workmanship
- Full UK driving licence required with flexibility to travel across the Midlands and surrounding areas
- ECS/CSCS, IPAF, PASMA, or SSSTS considered advantageous
