Job Summary
Conduct precision cleaning, rinsing, and drying of valves, pipes, and gauges in controlled oxygen-rich environments. Disassemble, inspect, repair, and reassemble oxygen systems using specialized tools while removing combustible contaminants like oils and dust. Calibrate, inspect, and test measurement equipment across electrical, dimensional, optical, physical/mechanical, and chemical disciplines to ensure compliance with published specifications. Collect, compile, and analyze data to identify abnormalities, predict trends, and perform corrective actions for out-of-tolerance conditions. Prepare calibration reports and certificates while maintaining primary, secondary, and working standards. Perform laboratory and departmental housekeeping to maintain accreditation and clean room organization. Travel locally with occasional out-of-area trips, lifting up to 50 lbs for extended periods while adhering to strict safety protocols and PPE requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Civilian or military training with a working knowledge or demonstrated capacity to comprehend metrology
- Military precision measurement equipment laboratory (PMEL) experience
- Experience in calibration and metrology for the oil and gas, energy or related industry
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to read and write English
- Ability to recognize problems through troubleshooting and determine solution
- Ability to determine tools and equipment needed to complete a job
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Must be able to pass a drug screening test
- Ability to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes weighing up to 50lbs up to 8-10 hours per day
- Ability to work on and climb ladders and stairs frequently
- Bending/squatting/kneeling/stooping/crouching/crawling/twisting up and walking up to 8-10 hours per day
- Standing- must be able to stand or sit in one place up to 8-10 hours per day
- Hearing-periodically must be able to work in loud environments
