Job Summary
Small Equipment Operator at Rumpke operates equipment such as paper balers, bobcats, and forklifts to transport or bind materials, load/unload into trailers or railcars, and safely perform related duties. Responsibilities include conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections, performing routine maintenance, weighing and logging baled materials, and interacting professionally with internal and external customers. The role requires safety compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, ability to maneuver equipment in tight areas, and the potential for varied shifts including nights and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to pass a written and operational test to be certified to operate a forklift and bobcat
- Must be able to read and speak the English language well enough to communicate, understand, and respond to questions, directions, traffic signs, signals, and safety training
- Previous experience operating equipment preferred
- Legally eligible to work in the United States
- Valid driver’s license (if applicable)
- Must successfully complete pre-employment testing
