Job Summary
Small Engine Mechanic responsible for diagnosing and repairing customer equipment and rental fleet, performing gas arc welding, and delivering efficient, ethical workmanship. Duties include examining equipment to estimate repairs, preparing required parts lists, diagnosing based on equipment condition and manufacturers’ guidelines, repairing equipment, completing repairs within estimates, documenting work on service orders, preparing equipment for sale/display, servicing rental fleets, assisting with loading/unloading, pursuing ongoing manufacturer training, maintaining a clean and safe work area, and meeting billing-hour goals. Requires ASE certification or equivalent manufacturer certifications, 3 years of relevant experience on small engines, and the ability to work with tools and equipment used in small-tool, farm, and concrete-equipment repair; preferred experience with trowel machines, concrete vibrators, and cut-saws.
Required Qualifications
- ASE certifications or similar manufacturer repair certifications/training for small tools and equipment
- 3 years of mechanic experience on small-engines for tools and equipment that require mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic repairs and gas arc welding
- experience working on small engines for tools and equipment with welding and repair capabilities
- ability to diagnose and repair equipment, provide parts list, and complete repairs within estimates
