Job Summary
Conduct prompt, thorough investigations of commercial property claims by obtaining facts to determine coverage, origin, and loss extent. Perform on-site appraisals to assess causation, damages, and exposure while managing consultants and independent adjusters. Establish accurate loss cost estimates and reserves, then negotiate settlements to achieve fair and equitable outcomes for varying claim complexities. Maintain clear communication with insureds and document all activities electronically to substantiate payments. Affirm or deny coverage based on policy terms and develop information for advance, partial, and final payments. This role requires successful completion of internal training programs and the AIC module 33, along with at least 18 months of progressively responsible experience. Candidates must be willing to travel for catastrophe assignments that may last several weeks. The position is open to candidates located in Northern Ohio.
