Small Arms Repairer

Job Summary
Test, recondition, troubleshoot, and repair assigned small arms including fully automatic machine guns, rifles, pistols, carbines, and crew-served weapons. Disassemble components to locate misalignments or malfunctions, replace defective parts such as barrels, springs, and triggers, and perform quality inspection and assurance tests. Coordinate with the lead repairer on maintenance status, equipment requirements, and corrective actions while using technical manuals, parts lists, and maintenance bulletins to determine trouble. Perform inventories on parts and weapons, generate work orders, and ensure all operations comply with safety measures and performance standards. Work on-site during business hours, sometimes under short notice to accommodate mission requirements including weekends, holidays, and overtime.
Required Qualifications
- Valid state Real I.D. Driver's License
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to speak, write, read, understand English, and follow written/verbal directions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Self-starter; able to work as a team or independently, with limited supervision
- Proficiency in the use of computers and MS Office Software
- Minimum of three years' experience in weapons maintenance and repair, including semi-automatic, automatic, and burst capable weapons
- Related weapons maintenance and repair formal training (substitutable for up to two years of experience)
- Ability to read, comprehend and explain instructions, letters, memos, emails, and correspondence from inside the organization as well as from external sources
- Ability to effectively respond, communicate and present information to customers, internal and external, clients and other employees in the organization
- Ability to interpret instructions and information and explain to others in the performance of this job in English
- Must submit to and pass random drug and/or alcohol testing
- Reliable transportation to and from work and ability to access military installations
- Must arrive on time and dress IAW RRST dress code
- Must be a US Citizen
- Must be able to pass a National Criminal Background Check
- Must pass the National Agency Background Check and obtain computer access
- Must be able to obtain a CAC
- Must pass the Personnel Reliability Screening and Evaluation, DA Form 7708 investigation
- Must be available to work at the assigned physical location during business hours
- 7:30AM – 4:30PM (M-F)
- Must be able to lift or move at least 50lbs
- Must wear protective wear and other safety equipment during all periods of exposure to hazardous conditions
- Must be able to work flexible hours, sometimes under short notice, to accommodate for mission requirements to include weekends and holidays
- Overtime may be required
- Must complete timesheets daily, ensuring accurate data, both manually and via required system
- Must record actual work hours daily and ensure entries are accurate and timely
- Must perform other duties in accordance with requirements as directed
Desired Qualifications
- Small Arms / Artillery Repairer (91F) military school trained
