Job Summary
Assist the blood bank technicians with donor intake, screening, and restraint of feline and canine donors while ensuring donor comfort and safety. Communicate professionally with pet owners and perform data entry to maintain donor records and product inventory. Learn to assist with blood product processing, including centrifugation, separation, and labeling, while maintaining high standards of quality control. Help maintain organization by stocking supplies and managing donor food stores. Work 3-5 shifts per week, Monday through Friday, between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM. This role supports patient care throughout the CSU Veterinary Teaching Hospital by providing life-saving red blood cell and plasma products.
Required Qualifications
- HS Diploma or GED
- Previous work experience in a veterinary or animal care setting
- Basic organizational skills and attention to detail
- Willingness to work within a collaborative team environment
- Ability to work 3-5 shifts per week, Monday–Friday, between 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
- Must adhere to hospital safety and animal handling protocols
- A pre-employment criminal background check
