Job Summary
SLPA in-person role for the school year in Chicago, IL. Supports licensed SLPs by delivering therapy to students with communication disorders across individual, small group, and classroom settings; implement therapy plans developed by the supervising SLP; prepare and organize instructional materials and therapy activities; record accurate data on student performance and assist in preparing progress reports; maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical and professional standards; collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents under supervision to ensure consistent support across educational environments; follow ISBE and IDEA guidelines in delivering services; participate in supervision meetings, training sessions, and school team meetings as needed; contract opportunities with benefits and potential for extension or transition to permanent roles.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assistant studies or Communication Sciences and Disorders from an accredited program
- Current Illinois Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant License issued by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
- Must work under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist
- Fingerprint Clearance & Background Check required
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse student populations
