Job Summary
Conduct daily labor for mountain improvements and ski trail maintenance, including trail restoration, trash removal, and chainsaw operation for brushing and bucking. Clear and prepare job sites, load/unload materials, and perform general construction tasks using hand tools, power saws, and heavy equipment like excavators and loaders. Operate machinery following safety protocols, conduct pre-use inspections, and maintain tools and equipment. Document all work performed and daily equipment checks in the logbook while adhering to departmental safety policies. Maintain good housekeeping standards across work areas and company vehicles. This seasonal role supports mountain operations projects in a remote location where inclement weather is common.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Requires possession of valid Class C driver license
- driving record meeting the minimum standards required by the resort's insurance carrier
- Reliable transportation to and from work is a necessity
- Access to a 4WD or AWD vehicle is highly recommended
Desired Qualifications
- Prior construction experience preferred
- Prior Mtn Operations experience preferred
- Experience with basic hand tools, hydraulics, rigging, power tools, test equipment etc
- Experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, skid steers, and/or dump trucks preferred
- Ability to read and understand blue prints and associated technical documents preferred
- Apprentice Level in any one trade would be preferred
- Understanding of lock-out/tag-out procedures
- Heavy equipment operator certification or documented training preferred
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
