Job Summary
Conduct and document investigations of sexual harassment, assault, stalking, and dating/domestic violence complaints involving students and employees. Assist with alternative resolutions, supportive measures, and grievance adjudication while collaborating on policy development and compliance training for faculty, staff, and students. Manage day-to-day Title IX Coordinator duties in their absence and implement the university's violence prevention plan. Work collaboratively with the Office of General Counsel, Human Resources, and Student Life. Perform approximately 1,000 annual hours in an on-campus part-time role at Cedarville University, a mission-led Christian institution committed to transforming lives through education.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in social work, criminal justice, advocacy, student affairs, or a related field
- 1-3 years of experience in Higher Education, particularly in a student conduct, Title IX, or civil rights/equal opportunity role
- Experience conducting internal Title IX and/or civil rights investigations or employment law and/or HR experience
- Knowledge and experience with gender/sexual violence issues and effects of sexual assault on higher education populations
- Demonstrated ability to analyze, understand, and resolve complex and sensitive issues objectively
- Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, and work on multiple complex projects simultaneously
- Ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, and student populations
- Ability to maintain the confidentiality required and to handle sensitive information professionally
- Ability to handle a workload that can be unpredictable and reflective of an academic calendar cycle
- Demonstrated judgment, problem-solving, as well as critical thinking and analysis
- Ability to work independently, and as part of a team
- Must be able to communicate with people in person and through modern technological means
- Must be able to facilitate conflict resolution, using written and verbal communications
- Must be able to access various buildings on campus
- Copying, typing, keyboarding, hearing, speaking, and listening skills
- Must be able to represent the University at various conferences and meetings as required
- Independent travel, both by automobile and airplane, may be required on occasion
- Must be able to articulate a theoretical approach to Christian discipleship in such a way that is faithful to Scripture and meets professional standards
- Personal commitment to honesty, integrity, maintaining appropriate confidence, and fostering adherence to ethical standards
- Agree with the Doctrinal Statement and Standards of Conduct of Cedarville University
- Meet the general hiring expectation of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and membership and service in a local church of like faith and practice to the University's doctrinal position
- Avoid conflicts of interest consistent with university policy and professional obligations
