Job Summary
Operate slitting machines to cut film to specified widths, lengths, and diameters while maintaining safety, quality, and productivity standards. Install and align shear or razor blades, select spacers and lay-on bars, and adjust settings using tools like rulers and gauges to ensure conformance to specifications. Thread feedstock through the slitter and rewinder, monitor operation for defects, and measure roll dimensions against customer requirements. Read production schedules and tickets to determine equipment adjustments. Maintain a clean work area and report unsafe conditions. Requires high school diploma, one to three years of experience, and ability to work at a fast pace.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Must be able to read tape measure, including micrometers
- Must be computer literate
