Job Summary
Slicer role responsible for slicing meat and cheese in a full-time production setting. Primary duties include opening, slicing, stacking, and staging meat/cheese for hoagie production; loading/unloading and packaging; maintaining cooler/freezer inventory; operating slicers, dressing packaging equipment, choppers/shredders, mixers, and packaging machines; rotating inventory using FIFO; performing cleaning and sanitation tasks; assisting in loading trucks; counting inventory; and providing support as backup for related roles. Must start at 4:00 a.m. with shift length varying by production needs. Requires ability to stand up to 4 hours, lift up to 60 pounds, read a digital weight scale, perform basic math, and work in a team-oriented environment. OSHA and food safety training are required on-site. Wage starts at $18.72 per hour.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a minimum of 18 years of age
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Must be able to stand up to 4 hours at a time and work at a fast pace with frequent twisting and turning
- Must have excellent manual dexterity and be able to lift up to 60 pounds frequently
- Must be able to use and read a digital weight scale, perform basic math calculations, and accurately count large quantities of food products and supplies
- Food service experience and meat slicing experience preferred
- Must attend on-site OSHA and food safety training
