Job Summary
Sleepover Family Support Worker at Graceville Women’s Centre in Perth, WA. Casual shift-based role serving as the primary onsite overnight contact to support women and children, monitor safety, respond to urgent needs, and assist with implementing case plans. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate client records, handing over to day staff, addressing high-risk situations, enforcing evacuation and safety protocols as Fire Warden, promoting TSA programs, and participating in training and quality improvement. Requires Certificate IV in social work, welfare, community development or related field (or equivalent experience), experience in family/domestic violence or homelessness, knowledge of trauma, strong communication and boundary skills, WA driver’s license and First Aid with CPR, and Working with Children Check. Emphasis on independent lone-worker duties, cultural safety, and supportive, respectful client relationships.
Required Qualifications
- Certificate IV in social work, welfare, community development or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Experience working in the family and domestic violence or homelessness sector
- Knowledge of trauma, abuse and the impacts on women and children
- Ability to respond calmly and safely to challenging or high-risk situations
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build supportive, respectful relationships
- Ability to maintain boundaries, confidentiality and professional conduct
- Understanding of culturally safe and inclusive practice
- Initiative, sound judgement and the ability to work independently as a lone worker
- Current WA driver’s licence and First Aid Certificate with CPR
- Working with Children Check
