Job Summary
Administer sleep studies under physician direction, perform timely and accurate testing procedures, and collect biological specimens for analysis. Score sleep/wake stages and clinical events, document routine observations and significant events, and implement appropriate interventions. Prepare and download portable monitoring equipment, maintain devices in clean operational condition, and adhere to disinfection protocols. Collect, analyze, and integrate patient information to identify and meet age-specific needs for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
Required Qualifications
- Passed the examination and is licensed and/or certified as either a polysomnographer, sleep technologist or a sleep disorder specialist
- High School/GED Equivalent
- Accredited Educational program or Associate Degree in Sleep Technology
- One year of Experience Performing Sleep Study Procedures
- BLS
- Polysomnographic license and/or certification as Registered Sleep Technologist (RST), Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT), or Sleep Disorder Specialist (SDS)
- Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide services appropriate to the child, adolescent, young adult, middle adult, and geriatric patient/customer served by the Sleep Lab department
- Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to assess and interpret data about the patient/customer status to identify each patient/customer age-specific needs and provides the service needed by the group serviced
- Able to work independently and in a team environment
- Demonstrates knowledge of equipment and accurate use
Desired Qualifications
- One year of Experience Performing Sleep Study Procedures is Preferred
