Job Summary
Facilitate polysomnographic tests, collect accurate data, and monitor study quality while documenting clinical events such as respiratory and cardiac episodes. Prepare and calibrate equipment, apply electrodes, sensors, and airway pressure masks per established protocols, and score clinical events for physician review. Adhere to safety regulations and laboratory protocols throughout the overnight shift from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM. This role supports diagnostic testing and patient care at our sleep lab, requiring RPSGT or RRT certification with prior sleep lab experience.
Required Qualifications
- Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with sleep management experience
- VA licensure
- High school diploma or higher
- completion of an accredited Polysomnography program
- Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) certification or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
- Prior experience as an RPSGT or RRT in a sleep lab setting
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, talk, and hear; use hands to operate equipment
- Close, distance, and peripheral vision with ability to adjust focus
- Lift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly, 25 pounds frequently, and 50 pounds occasionally
- Vaccination and immunization records or titers
