Job Summary
Sleep Lab Technician at Monument Health performs extensive sleep disorders testing for diagnostic purposes, applies electrodes and sensors, educates patients, scores recordings using the AASM Scoring Manual, and maintains equipment through calibration and maintenance. Duties include monitoring patient effort and tolerance, identifying artifact and inadequate signals, adhering to safety protocols, and interpreting records for patient assessment while providing age-appropriate care across pediatrics to geriatrics under supervision. Emphasis on teamwork, patient-centered care, and following Sleep Center parameters/guidelines; opportunities to develop skills toward independent scoring and reporting under supervision.
Required Qualifications
- Education - High School Diploma/GED Equivalent in General Studies
- Certification - Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) within 60 days or transfer; Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) Certification - Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) within 18-months of hire; BRPT/ RST / RRT (preferred) qualifications with SDS NBRC Sleep Disorders Specialty (SDS) within 18 months of hire.
