Job Summary
Receive instructions, blueprints, and work orders for maintenance or facility upgrade projects. Develop working procedures and schedules for jobs, material requirements, and equipment as needed. Perform routine maintenance and repair on the facility and equipment, including plumbing, plastering, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical tasks, in accordance with established procedures. Prepare and organize materials before starting tasks, report equipment needing repair immediately, and respond to building emergencies during any time on or off-shift as directed. Conduct daily rounds and check various systems as assigned, including related record keeping. This full-time role at Skyline at First Hill, Seattle's premier luxury retirement community, supports a culture of serving others and enriching the lives of older adults.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least eighteen years of age
- Ability to read, write and speak English
- Formal training in vocational school or trade apprenticeship program
- A minimum of 2 years building maintenance work experience
- Must be able to read and work from blueprints
- Knowledgeable in all construction trades
- Completion of a background check
- Physical, Drug Screen, Fingerprint, or TB Test
- Ability to work in different physical positions to complete tasks
- Ability to provide a variety of physically demanding maintenance-related tasks inside and outside the building
- Must have good manual dexterity
- Ability to work with tools and equipment
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50lbs
