Job Summary
Support clients in navigating foreign credential recognition processes, including educational assessments and licensing requirements. Assist with completing equivalency applications through organizations like WES and ICAS, while conducting needs assessments to align clients with relevant training programs. Facilitate group sessions and one-on-one guidance on skills development, certifications, and pathways into construction trades. Develop individualized learning plans, provide ongoing coaching, and maintain accurate client records in CRM systems. Liaise with credentialing bodies and industry partners to advocate for clients and track service outcomes for reporting. Collaborate with employment counselors and external partners to create holistic service plans. Host career workshops and contribute to program visibility across Ontario communities.
Required Qualifications
- Post-secondary degree or equivalent in Career and Work Counseling, Adult Education, Social Work, or a related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in case management, workforce development, or skills training
- Knowledge of the newcomer settlement and Employment Ontario sectors with a good understanding of challenges faced by prospective immigrants, newcomers to Canada, women, and youth
- Strong understanding of foreign credential recognition systems, regulatory bodies, and educational equivalency in Ontario
- Experience, knowledge or connections with the construction industry or demonstrated ability to support clients entering skilled trades and related fields
- Knowledge of training programs, funding support, and relevant government services
- Willingness and ability to travel throughout Ontario
- A valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required by the project
