Job Summary
The Project LIFE Skills Trainer provides vocational training to student interns enrolled in Project LIFE programming, supporting them during their work-based learning experiences. Responsibilities include instructing and assessing student learning of job skills, implementing educational and developmental supports, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams. The position requires an associates or bachelor's degree in Education/Teaching, along with relevant experience working with individuals with disabilities. The trainer must also adhere to educational guidelines and manage environmental adaptations for individual needs.
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree in Education/Teaching or other related field AND 3 years of relevant experience required
- Bachelor’s degree in Education/Teaching or other related field AND 1 year of relevant experience required
- Experience supporting learning for teens and young adults with a variety of disabilities
Desired Qualifications
- Working familiarity with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Special Education legislation preferred
- Professional experience with transition-to-employment or supported employment programs preferred
- Special Education Certificate preferred
Additional Requirements
- Candidates must have a valid driver's license, active insurance policy, and reliable transportation for local travel
- Candidates are expected to complete background checks assigned by Goodwill SWPA, including a National Criminal Background check, prior to their first day of employment
- Candidates are expected to provide current, valid clearances (Child Abuse Clearance, FBI Fingerprints Clearance, and PATCH) prior to their first day of employment
