Job Summary
Independent living skills training on a one-on-one basis under general supervision of the Program Manager. Responsibilities include developing and implementing support service activities and independent living training, assisting with mobility and communication needs, personal care, documentation, reports, and participation in staff meetings. Requires high school diploma or GED, ability to read/write English, CDL with clean driving record, valid auto insurance, and First Aid/CPR certificates. Knowledge of developmental and physical disabilities, instructional techniques, seizure management, safe lifting/transfer practices, and documentation procedures. Strong interpersonal, ethical, and customer-service skills; ability to work collaboratively and independently; willingness to maintain diversity sensitivity and adhere to safeguarding principles.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- CDL and clean driving record
- Proof of ongoing auto insurance for personal vehicle
- First Aid/CPR certificates
- Ability to read, write, and understand English
- Strong communication skills
- Knowledge of developmental and physical disabilities; instructional techniques; documentation procedures
- Ability to lift 50 lbs or more
- Ability to drive and operate vehicle for transportation
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to follow supervisor instructions
