Job Summary
Skills Instructor (per diem) needed to empower adults with ID/DD and support families. Responsibilities include teaching and fostering acquisition, retention or improvement of skills such as health and nutrition, shopping, personal finance, use of community resources, community and personal safety, and other adaptive/social skills; implementing goals outlined in Plans of Care/Family Support Plan/Behavioral Support Plan; delivering services in settings including personal homes, family homes, and community; providing written progress notes; applying behavioral strategies and protocols; assisting with personal care as needed; reporting suspected neglect or abuse to appropriate authorities; and attending required training. Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED, experience with individuals with developmental disabilities, ability to pass background checks, valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle, CPR/First Aid certifications, and strong communication skills. Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Direct experience working with individuals diagnosed with intellectual and developmental disabilities
- Must be able to pass Fingerprint background check, CORI, DPPC and Driving background checks
- Valid Driver's License required
- Personable vechile required for this role
- Must obtain and maintain CPR and First Aid certifications
- If working with children and /or infants, will need to certified in child and infant CPR and First Aid
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
