Job Summary
As a Skilled Sliding Head Lathe Machinist at Moog, you will setup and operate Star Sliding Head Lathes, engage in problem-solving to enhance manufacturing processes, and conduct inspections using various metrology equipment. You will need significant experience in the field, a machining apprenticeship, and the ability to maintain high-quality standards while adopting lean manufacturing principles. The position requires strict adherence to tolerances, effective problem-solving, and proficiency in reading complex manufacturing drawings.
Required Qualifications
- Significant experience setting Star Sliding Head lathes
- A recognized apprenticeship in machining or a related field
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Able to work to extremely tight tolerances
- Proficient in inspecting components with diverse manual and automated metrology equipment
- Demonstrate daily problem solving skills
- The ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings for complex components
- A good understanding of GD&T principles
- A positive attitude towards lean manufacturing tools and techniques
