Job Summary
Oversee patient care at area nursing homes in post acute, long term, and assisted living settings. Collaborate with APPs and nursing staff to manage patient needs and rotate "MD Backup Call" for nights and weekends as needed. Work within a team of four Geriatricians and seven APPs to support rounds in established practices. Part-time positions available with a Monday through Friday schedule from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Physicians on call for patients during the workday week; APPs handle the majority of calls. Utilize the Electronic Medical Record system shared with local hospitals. Teach Internal Medicine residents with the Carle Internal Medicine Residency Program and pursue academic or research affiliation with the Carle Illinois College of Medicine. Optional moonlighting with Carle's urgent care is available for extra income.
