Job Summary
Operate jackhammers, drills, and power tools to position, join, align, and seal structural components like concrete walls and pipes. Mix, pour, and spread concrete while tending pumps and generators to supply power for machinery. Dig trenches, backfill excavations, and compact earth to grade specifications using pneumatic tampers and shovels. Load, unload materials, and erect scaffolding, shoring, and traffic barricades as directed. Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment and movement of heavy machinery. Clean construction sites, apply caulking compounds, and perform general maintenance on tools and equipment. Work long, flexible hours including nights, weekends, and all seasons, providing assistance to craft workers and following all safety regulations. Valid driver's license with clean MVR required.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a minimum of 18 years old
- Good work ethic, reliable and on time
- 1 year experience in asphalt paving and working around heavy equipment
- Valid driver's license with clean MVR
- Candidate must be able to perform all aspects of the laborers position
- Ability to pull and lift or move heavy weight material with frequent lifting or moving materials or equipment (over 80 pounds)
- Ability to continuously work around noise, dust, heat, cold, oil and heavy equipment
- Ability to exchange ideas quickly and clearly
- Ability to receive and evaluate detailed information and instructions
- Must be available for long, flexible hours including nights, weekends, and work outside for extended periods during all seasons of the year
