Skilled Laborer - Roller Compactor Operator (Heavy Civil Construction)

Job Summary
Measure distances from grade stakes, drive stakes, and stretch tight lines to align machinery. Bolts, nails, and block up under forms while signaling operators to facilitate movement and adjustment. Level earth to fine grade specifications using a pick and shovel, then mix concrete with a portable mixer. Smooth and finish freshly poured cement using a float, trowel, or screed. Position, join, align, and seal pipe sections, and erect scaffolding, shoring, and braces. Perform tasks involving dextrous use of hands and tools, including sawing lumber and dismantling forms. Requires operation of a Roller Compactor. High School Diploma or GED required with appropriate training and experience. - Ability to stand or walk for long periods
- Ability to use arms and hands to reach for, handle, and manipulate objects
- Ability to frequently lift and carry materials weighing 50 to 100 pounds
- Ability to climb up and down ladders, scaffolds, and other objects and carry tools and equipment
- Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl
- Ability to see (naturally or with correction)
- Willingness to learn operation of Roller Compactor
