Job Summary
Erect, repair, and wreck infrastructure components including waterworks, locks, dams, and pipe sections. Measure distances from grade stakes, drive stakes, stretch tight lines, and level earth to fine specifications using picks and shovels. Mix concrete with portable mixers, smooth and finish freshly poured cement using floats, trowels, or screeds, and bolt, nail, align, and block forms. Signal operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery. Erect scaffolding, shoring, and braces while performing tasks involving dextrous use of hands and tools such as sawing lumber and dismantling forms. Requires high school diploma or GED, appropriate training, and physical ability to lift 50 to 100 pounds, climb ladders, and work in changing conditions.
