Skilled Arborist

A Skilled Arborist performs a range of arboricultural duties with emphasis on safety and high-quality service. Responsibilities include pruning, climbing, removals, chipping, stump grinding, root pruning and barrier installation, hedge shearing, plant health care diagnosis and treatment, planting/relocation, cable and bracing, tree risk assessments, emergency work and storm cleanup, equipment maintenance, record-keeping, and leading crews while ensuring compliance with safety policies. Customer interactions to coordinate with clients, explain status of services, and collect payments are part of duties. Requirements include leadership, strong communication, attention to detail, and extensive arboricultural knowledge, with authority to maintain equipment and promote safety culture. Production- and results-focused work ethic, professional representation of the company, and a desire to build client rapport are emphasized. Regulatory and certification requirements include ISA certification or equivalent training, WHMIS, First Aid, and a valid Class 5 Driver Licence with Air Brakes Endorsement.
