Job Summary
Accelerate delivery of capabilities through performance engineering, software integration, and test activities leveraging credible modeling, simulation, experimentation, and analysis. Apply MSE&A techniques to assess, validate, and optimize system and subsystem performance across radar systems engineering phases, tracing IQ data through processing chains to identify deficiencies. Perform performance-focused modeling on high-performance computing grids to evaluate behavior, conduct trade studies, and generate systems engineering documentation. Support software integration and algorithm development by verifying interfaces and executing verification and validation artifacts for design and acceptance testing. Develop physics-based radar models, threat simulations, and analysis tools to represent system behavior under varied conditions. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to diagnose performance issues, recommend design changes, and present technical material for internal and external briefings.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship
- Current/active U.S. Government Secret Clearance
- Ability to obtain/maintain Special Access Program (SAP) access
- Experience in modeling, simulation, experimentation, and analysis
- Experience with programming languages like Python, C/C++, as well as scripting in Linux/Windows environments
- Experienced in statistics, design of experiments, and high-performance computing
- Experience with DoD testing and acquisition principles
- Hands-on experience in developmental testing, planning, and execution of weapon tests
- Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience, a Master's degree with 3 years of experience or a PhD with 1 year of experience in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics or related technical fields
- Additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
- 100% on-site work
- Has served at least 180 days on active duty
- Is within 12 months of separation or retirement
- Will receive an honorable discharge
- Has taken any service TAPS/TGPS
- Has attended or participated in an ethics brief within the last 12 months
- Received Unit Commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander in chain of command) written authorization and approval to participate in SkillBridge Program prior to start of internship
Desired Qualifications
- Advanced degrees in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics or related technical fields
- Active Top Secret Clearance or higher
- Experience with JMP, R, or other domain specific environments supporting data exploration, visualization, and statistical analysis
- Domain experience in simulations of RF, EOIR, Communications, or related systems
- Experience with optimal estimation theory (Maximum likelihood estimation, minimum mean squared error, Kalman filtering, Wiener filtering, particle filtering, Cramer-Rao lower bound)
- Experience with adaptive signal processing (space time adaptive signal processing, MVDR, Multiple Signal Classification)
- Understanding of the Systems Engineering and Integration & Test processes
- Experience with Agile and/or SAFe methodologies
- Experience optimizing multiple subsystem performance within a large solution space
- Demonstrated technical leadership with small teams and/or mentoring
