SkillBridge Participant – Aviation Maintenance

Job Summary
Assist with aircraft inspections, maintenance, and repair activities under supervision while learning ATS safety, quality, and compliance procedures. Support documentation, work packages, and maintenance records by reading and interpreting maintenance manuals and technical documentation. Complete on-the-job-training forms and required reading to gain exposure to civilian aviation maintenance workflows and best practices. This role provides supervised training for transitioning Active Duty Service Members eligible for the DoD SkillBridge Program within 180 days of separation, with military command approval required. Participants remain on Active Duty status and receive full military pay and benefits through the U.S. Department of Defense.
Required Qualifications
- Active Duty Service Member eligible for the DoD SkillBridge Program
- Within 180 days of separation or retirement from the military
- Military Command approval required
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to perform basic to intermediate mathematical functions
- Meet all regulatory requirements per FAR 65
- Required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to handle and climb ladders and aircraft stairs
Desired Qualifications
- Aviation maintenance, mechanical, or technical military experience
- Aviation training or certifications
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with other maintenance personnel at all levels regarding job related issues
- Show a continued aptitude for new assigned work
