SkillBridge Critical Facilities Engineer, Data Center - Hiring our Heroes Cohort Q3' 2026

SkillBridge internship in Data Center Operations for Equinix's DoD SkillBridge Cohort. Interns will support routine and semi-routine tasks related to customer installations, infrastructure maintenance, and service delivery within IBX data centers. Responsibilities include site inspections and supervision of building and data center alarms; preventative maintenance on on-site infrastructure (UPS, generators, BMS, chillers, life safety systems); repairs and corrective maintenance; routine circuit installations; responding to on-site incidents; completing site logs and basic permit-related work orders; providing assistance during critical maintenance activities; collaborating with the department and offering recommendations for maintenance activities; working 24/7 shift flexibility to cover emergencies. Qualifications include mandatory eligibility under the DoD Instruction and NAVADMIN; required technical associate degree or military-technical/civilian technical trade school; ongoing bachelor’s degree or relevant experience with 1-4 years in Mechanical Engineering or related field; knowledge of critical infrastructure hardware and IT/data center operations; strong communication, teamwork, and initiative.
