Job Summary
Conduct ski and snowboard services including boot fitting, binding installation, stone grinding, hot waxing, and delamination repair. Perform general shop maintenance on tuning machines while ensuring cleanliness, safety, and functionality across all shop operations. Assist in other store areas during peak season as needed. Maintain customer equipment with the same care as personal gear, adhering to strict safety standards. This role requires a mechanically inclined self-starter with strong problem-solving skills and retail experience. Fluency in English is required, with a second language being a plus. The position involves prolonged standing, walking, squatting, and lifting equipment up to 50 lbs. Required Qualifications
- A passion for mountain sports and lifestyle and the ability to share that passion with customers
- Knowledge of, or a keen desire to learn, about winter sports equipment and accessories
- Proven problem-solving ability: effectively identifying, analyzing, following through, and resolving issues, and a proven ability to show attention to detail
- Great attitude & quick learner
- Mechanically inclined
- Effective communication skills-- clear, concise, and positive, both written and verbal
- Excellent customer service skills
- Self-starter with ability to multi-task
- Ability to complete tasks quickly and under pressure
- Remain current on new industry products and trends; demonstrate knowledge of products
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Retail experience required
- Must be fluent in English
- Able to tolerate prolonged periods of standing, and walking short distances
- Able to tolerate squatting, lifting, carrying (ski/snowboard equipment, some boxes up to 50 lbs, with assistance)
- Possible other physical demands talking, standing, walking, bending, squatting, kneeling, reaching, carrying, climbing, and more
Desired Qualifications
- Experienced or certified (certification is available through equipment manufacturers) is a plus
- Experience working on skis and snowboards a plus
- Willing to train the right applicant
- Fluency in second language highly desirable
