Job Summary
Support Alpine Rangers, Mountain Rangers, Shooting Stars, and Mighty Mites teams by helping young skiers ages 4-9 develop fundamental skills in a fun, safe environment. Assist coaches with implementing long-term athlete development plans, delivering training drills, and setting up quality on-mountain and Team Center facilities. Transport and install necessary equipment, maintain facility appearance, and foster an inclusive atmosphere while adhering to all safety policies and company guidelines. Work with athletes, guests, and staff to ensure a positive experience, communicate professionally with parents regarding program decisions, and participate in required trainings and meetings. Applicants must be 14-17 years old with extensive skiing experience and prior youth work experience.
Required Qualifications
- Applicants must be 14-17 years of age
- Prior experience working and/or volunteering with youth
- Extensive skiing experience
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Ability to work independently
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency and willingness to use mobile devices and online applications for communication, scheduling, training updates, and program administration
- Employee must be capable of skiing or snowboarding in all types of terrain in varying and sometimes hazardous snow and weather conditions
- Must be capable of standing for long periods of time, up to 90% or more of a normal work shift
- Must be capable of frequently or constantly balancing, reaching, squatting, bending, kneeling, stooping, handling and twisting
- May require out of the ordinary skiing or snowboarding movements in order to assist children on the mountain
- Must be capable of occasionally carrying, lifting, pushing or pulling up to 75bs
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perceptions and the ability to adjust focus
- Employee will frequently exposed to outside weather conditions
- Employee will frequently be exposed to extreme cold, wetness and/or humidity, and occasionally blizzards and extreme storm conditions
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to wear eye protection, gloves, masks, helmet
- A Motor Vehicle Record review may be required as part of your job
Desired Qualifications
- US Ski & Snowboard Certification
- PSIA or IFSA Certification
- Prior coaching or instructing experience
