Job Summary
Experienced Ski Rental Technician sought to prepare and maintain rental skis, snowboards, and related equipment; fit customers with appropriate gear and answer questions; educate customers on equipment use including skin application/removal and touring mode engagement; assist guests with retail needs and provide resort information; manage rental shop inventory and perform minor repairs; ensure compliance with procedures; work as a team and assist other departments; participate in daily setup/closing of the store in Niseko/Furano, Japan during November 2026–March 2027; benefits include season ski pass, subsidised staff accommodation, and discounts.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working in a ski/snowboard rental shop or backcountry ski/splitboarding shop
- Strong technical understanding of ski and snowboard equipment
- Ability to perform minor repairs and adjustments on skis and snowboards
- Experience with frame/pin bindings and splitboards is advantageous but not essential
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Contagious love of skis/boards
