Job Summary
Uphold the highest levels of safety on varied terrain while instructing young athletes in uphill travel and skinning techniques. Supervise children during classes, lunch, and snack times, and assist lift attendants with loading and unloading kids on chairlifts per policy. Clearly and accurately teach assigned skill levels using the Instructor Guide, ensuring a safe and fun learning environment through exceptional class handling. Communicate lesson content and student progress to guardians, confirm the return of children to their identified parents, and maintain cleanliness of outdoor teaching areas. Attend morning meetings, complete mandatory on-snow training, and adhere to the Vermont Skier Safety Act and company guidelines. Work in unpredictable winter weather with extended periods of standing and snow travel.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 16 years old
- Expert level with backcountry/side country, tree skiing and uphill travel experienced skier/snowboarder
- Parallel or linking turns on groomed blue terrain
- Previous experience with teaching/coaching/mentoring and/or previous ski or snowboard instructor experience
- Experience working with children
- Available to work holidays and weekends
- Successfully complete mandatory on snow training
- Must be able to stand and walk on snow for extended periods of time
- Must be able to bend, squat and lift 50 lbs
- Must have good guest service skills and work well in a team
- Ability to work in inclement weather in a mountain environment
- Current certifications in Wilderness First Aid, Wilderness First Responder, or Outdoor Emergency Care
- Applicants must have experience of ski touring and have touring gear including climbing skins
- Knowledge of Spanish language is a plus

- PSIA/AASI Level I, Level II or Level III Certification
- USSA Certifications
