Job Summary
Deliver exceptional ski and snowboard lessons for guests of all ages at beginner and intermediate levels, tailoring instruction to individual needs while ensuring a safe, positive, and fun environment. Greet guests professionally, actively engage with students to promote responsible skiing practices, and lead groups independently while managing dynamics in alignment with resort policies. Serve as a Sun Valley ambassador by anticipating guest needs and offering solutions to enhance their experience, maintaining clear communication with supervisors and mountain operations staff. Work outdoors in winter conditions for extended periods, including weekends and holidays from November to April, while participating in ongoing training to refine teaching techniques.
Required Qualifications
- A strong passion for skiing and snowboarding and sharing that enthusiasm with guests
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships based on trust with guests, students, and team members
- Able to ski or snowboard at an intermediate level or higher and demonstrate proficiency for the duration of a lesson (up to 7 hours per day)
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to the changing demands of the resort environment
- Ability to work outdoors in a variety of winter weather conditions for extended periods
- Available to work weekends, holidays, and throughout the season (November to April)
- Engage in physical activities like standing for long periods, walking, skiing or snowboarding, and utilizing hands for tasks that involve gripping, handling, and reaching
- Can safely lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with or supervising children is preferred but not required
