Job Summary
Assist with class lesson set-up, including getting out buckets, and help get skaters to class. Teach introductory skills to recreational camp participants and supervise practice times by playing games with music. Ensure all students receive equal instruction while helping slow-moving participants stay engaged. Check new students for proper skate fit, prepare certificates and progress reports, and promote re-enrollment. Assist facility personnel during peak hours and special events, and notify the skating director via e-mail if missing a shift. Maintain familiarity with Sharks Ice curriculum and ISI program maneuvers, and keep up to date with latest skating rules and trends.
Required Qualifications
- Posses a record of high achievement as an ice skater in Figure Skating, Hockey, Speed Skating or Dance
- Able to work well with youth, adults and has positive interactions with coaches and customers
- Good working knowledge of Ice Sports Industry programs and other skating clubs and organizations
- Ability to sit, stand and utilize a computer for extended periods of time
- Communicate via phone and email with a variety of individuals
- Ability to bend at the waist, reach overhead and lift up to 15 lbs with or without accommodation
- Physically navigate stairs and catwalks at SSE facilities during normal work hours and events with or without accommodation
- Ability to work occasional extended hours including nights, weekends, holidays (all with advance notice)
- May be required to travel to other company locations
- May be required to attend conference, events, and training sessions within Bay Area or in- or out-of-state locations
