Job Summary
Conduct daily skateboarding and BMX instruction while demonstrating skillful wheel sports abilities to teach novice riders. Present programs through cheerful, helpful service, ensuring the safety of all participants and maintaining a clean, organized work area. Assist in the setup and takedown of facilities, turn paperwork into supervisors accurately, and model the Scout Oath and Law in all interactions. Perform equipment maintenance and additional duties assigned by leadership while abiding by staff handbook policies. Requires standing, walking, and biking up to 8 hours daily with the ability to lift 50 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum age: 18+
- Willing to become a registered Scouting America member (includes background screening)
- Comfortable using Microsoft Teams for daily work-related communication
- Ability to stand, walk, and bike up to 8 hours daily and ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds
- Complete the Annual Health and Medical Record, including height/weight guidelines
Desired Qualifications
- Preferred: Experience teaching or riding skateboarding
- Preferred: Experience maintaining skateboards or skateparks
- High emotional intelligence (such as self/social awareness and team dynamics)
- Positive and cheerful attitude with a strong customer-service focus
- Adaptability in a fast-paced environment with ability to learn/develop hard and soft skills
- Ability to connect with individuals from diverse age groups, maturity, and backgrounds
