Job Summary
Monitor skaters on the ice and maintain a safe, enjoyable experience for everyone while greeting guests with warmth and enthusiasm. Provide exceptional guest service both on and off the ice, politely educating skaters about rink rules and alerting management to unsafe conditions. Assist guests during incidents or falls, professionally resolve concerns, and help maintain cleanliness and safety, especially during inclement weather. Support special events including set-up, monitoring, and clean-up, and participate in all training sessions. Work outdoors at the Bryant Park Ice Rink in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, skating for extended periods and working evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Must be willing to test for Fire Guard Certification
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be an intermediate-level skater or better
- Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays - No exceptions
- Comfortable skating for extended periods (4-8 hours per shift)
- Enthusiastic, reliable, and team-oriented, with excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain focus in a high-volume, fast-paced environment and stressful situations
- Must have excellent guest service skills
- Must be able to lift 40 pounds waist high
- Must be able to skate for extended periods
- Must be able to work in cold and inclement weather for prolonged periods of time
- Pushing and pulling heavy objects across the ice while skating backwards
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Skate Host or in a similar role is preferred
