Job Summary

Relational Accountability is a Spring 2027 online course for Social Work focusing on reflecting on values and practices for transformative relationships with Indigenous Peoples. The course examines how social work theories and practices are shaped by colonial contexts, emphasizes understanding Indigenous worldviews and responsibilities to relational transformation, and notes that it does not engage Indigenous cultural practices or dominant narratives about Indigenous issues. You will guide students in examining personal ancestral positions, responsibilities to land, and transformation of professional practice, with the aim of fostering culturally informed social work aligned with Truth and Reconciliation calls to action.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work or related
  • PhD Degree an asset
  • Eligibility for appointment to the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies is required to teach graduate courses
