Job Summary

Independently investigate suspected fraudulent insurance claims across workers' compensation, general liability, property, casualty, and disability coverage. Acquire information through discretion, client guidance, and collaboration with law enforcement and state Departments of Insurance via data collection, interviews, and research. Create detailed documentation for investigations, audits, and training tasks while producing professional reports and memos. Develop strategic plans to achieve assignment objectives and verify database results. Requires a valid driver's license with one year of experience, proficiency in anti-fraud laws, and ability to work varied hours including weekends.

Required Qualifications

  • Must possess a valid driver's license with at least one year of driving experience
  • Must possess one or more of the following: Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice
  • Must possess one or more of the following: High School diploma or higher with a minimum of five (5) years of demonstrated professional law enforcement experience with specific attention to investigations related to fraud
  • Must possess one or more of the following: Ability to be properly licensed as a Private Investigator as required by the state where work Is completed
  • Must possess one or more of the following: Minimum of five (5) years of demonstrated experience conducting complex insurance investigations or adjusting complex insurance claims
  • Must possess one or more of the following: Proficient understanding and application of anti-fraud laws, insurance regulations, and compliance standards within their home state and designated regional area
  • Must possess one or more of the following: Proficient in utilizing laptop computers and cell phones
  • Must possess one or more of the following: Special Investigative Unit (SIU) Compliance knowledge
  • Must possess one or more of the following: Ability to type 40+ words per minute with minimum error
  • Must possess one or more of the following: Flexibility to work varied and irregular hours and days including weekends and holidays
  • Post offer, must be able to successfully complete the Allied Universal Investigations training/orientation course

  • Familiarity with California SIU regulations
  • One or more of the following professional industry certifications: Certified Fraud Investigator (CFE)
  • One or more of the following professional industry certifications: Certified Insurance Fraud Investigator (CIFI)
  • One or more of the following professional industry certifications: Fraud Claim Law Associate (FCLA)
  • One or more of the following professional industry certifications: Fraud Claim Law Specialist (FCLS)
  • One or more of the following professional industry certifications: Certified Protection Professional (CPP)
  • One or more of the following professional industry certifications: Associate in Claims (AIC)
  • One or more of the following professional industry certifications: Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU)
