SIU Intelligence Analyst - Sr

Job Summary

Design, code, and conduct data-gathering assignments to query insurance claims, policy, and payment records from internal data warehouses. Reconcile and analyze complex datasets to detect fraudulent trends and patterns in Citizens' claims and policies. Summarize analytical findings using high-quality visualization to present recommendations to management and collaborate with business units to implement statistical models and predictive algorithms. Coach less-experienced staff, direct work activities, and deliver fraud awareness training to facilitate the identification of fraudulent acts. Research and recommend business solutions regarding software procurement, application development, and vendor service changes.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree OR 3 years relevant experience, OR a combination of college education and relevant experience equivalent to 3 years
  • 6 years of experience quantitatively analyzing detailed data and/or data analytics, data warehousing, or data mining knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and concepts
  • Advanced proficiency with SQL query, programming languages and expertise with one of the reporting tools
  • Advanced proficiency with Visualization tools, such as Tableau, Power BI
  • Knowledge and experience in statistical and data mining techniques, querying databases & visualizing/presenting data for stakeholders
  • Demonstrated broad problem-solving skills
  • Master's degree in quantitative field such as Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Actuarial Science or related field OR master's degree in information technology
  • Demonstrated knowledge of IT audit, data analytics, as well as investigation processes and methodologies
  • Solid understanding of Enterprise Software Development and maintenance
  • Advanced levels of demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative, and to interact with all levels of management
  • Identify and resolve issues and identify solutions, utilizing comprehensive analytical skills and demonstrating attention to detail
  • Advanced Project management skills
  • Ability to communicate highly technical topics to non-technical insurance professions
  • Ability to resolve conflicts and create rapport with business partners
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills
  • Knowledge software life cycle, design, implementation, and deployment, including object-oriented programming concepts
  • Advanced quantitative, analytical, data-analytics and data-mining skills, problem solving, negotiation, and organizational skills

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience supporting investigations involving organized fraud rings, network-link analysis, and complex fraud schemes
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, automation, predictive analytics, and advanced visualization tools, to enhance fraud detection and investigative effectiveness
  • Ability to evaluate and apply innovative technologies to solve complex business challenges and strengthen SIU operations
  • 7 or more years of experience quantitatively analyzing detailed data and/or programming experience in the Property & Casualty Insurance industry
