Job Summary
Ensure all applicable personnel complete required training for assigned positions, including CBLs, client training, SOP reviews, and manufacturer-specific instruction. Conduct equipment training and competency evaluations, provide production training, and assist maintenance teams. Follow up on operator abuse issues involving VIMS and Telematics, offering coaching and recommendations. Verify company training programs are implemented and that mentors adhere to standards. Maintain onboarding logs, update crew designations weekly, submit weekly reports, and utilize the LMS for theory delivery and record keeping. Shift is 8 days on 6 days off with 12-hour days; transportation and accommodation are provided. Candidates must hold a valid Class 5 Driver's License, possess relevant mining operating experience, and pass random drug and alcohol testing at Suncor, Fort Hills, and Kearl sites.
Required Qualifications
- 5 years of operating experience in a mining environment
- 1+ years of operating experience on large and small Excavator, Crawler Tractor, Motor Grader and Haul Truck in a mining environment
- 1+ years of operational crew coaching, Lead Hand or supervisory experience, or a combination of all three types of experience
- Be proficient in English, both verbally and written
- Have a valid Class 5 Driver's License
- Have experience as requested as mentioned above
- Subject to Random Testing at: Suncor, Suncor Fort Hills and Kearl sites
- Undergo and successfully pass the following testing: Breath Alcohol Test, Urine Drug Test, Fitness-to-Work Assessment, Audiometric Testing, Vision Screening
- All successful candidates MUST provide the following items prior to confirmation of their start date: OSSA, BSO or CSO Certification
- All successful candidates MUST provide the following items prior to confirmation of their start date: Copy of Valid Class 5 Driver's License
- All successful candidates MUST provide the following items prior to confirmation of their start date: Copy of recent Driver's Abstract
- All successful candidates MUST provide the following items prior to confirmation of their start date: VOID cheque/direct deposit form
- Shift, site, and start times are subject to change
Desired Qualifications
- Operating experience on shovel considered an asset
- Operating experience on support equipment considered an asset
- Post secondary education considered an asset
- Registered Professional Trainer designation considered an asset
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office application software and training application software (LMS)
- Good organizational and communication skills, specifically written, verbal and public-speaking skills
- Experience with training adults
- Experience with program development
- Experience with computer software
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software
